PoochieBells The Trusted Name in Dog Training Doorbells in Classic Diva Dog Pink and Silver Design

Takes patience....
So, we have a 2 pound Maltese. She is scared to walk across the tile to the door, and even if she would scratch, we couldn't hear it. We bought this about a month ago. We started by taking her to the bells, and using her paw or her nose to get her to ring the bell. Then we'd say "Outside". After a while, we would just lead her to the bell (which is on the wall before the tile) and say "Ring the bell to go OUTSIDE". We emphasized the word outside. We would ring the bell, then tap the wall next to the bell until she nudged it with her nose. Then we started asking "Do you need to go outside?" And she would run to the bell and give it a nudge with her nose. Now, about 50% of the time, when she wants to go outside, even just to play, she gives it a little nudge with her nose. We can also get her to go outside by ringing the bell ourselves. She's still learning, but she definitely associates the bell with going out. You just need to be consistent and PATIENT! It won't happen...
The Bells Are Ringing...
I received this product quickly and was pleasantly surprised at the quality- the Diva Dog print ribbon seems sturdy and is adorable. The metal hardware and bells are of good quality as well. The bells ring loud enough to hear them anywhere on the first floor, but I'm not sure I would hear them upstairs behind a closed door.

As for the training ease of these bells, I have a Weimaraner/Lab mix named Molly who was 3 months old when we got this product. As soon as this was delivered, (June 3) I placed it on our back door and faithfully- EVERY SINGLE TIME I took her out I would lift the bells off the door and prompt her 'Ring your bells'. She would sit and stare at me as if I had three heads. Take her out, potty, back inside, rinse, repeat. All day, every day, for a month. She would never ring the bells herself.

Fast forward to about a week ago, maybe July 14th? SHE RANG THE BELLS HERSELF. I scrambled and praised and took her out immediately, and from then on I had...
Works perfect.....too well actually
The moment I got the package I put this on our front door. Our bulldog pup was already learning to go to the front door but we kept missing the queue (stupid pet owners :) I started tapping the bells and saying "Go Potty" each time I opened the door, a couple times I gently grabbed her front paw and tapped it. I had my wife and kids do the same. It took a couple days but she took to it right away bumping her nose on it, now she does it ALL the TIME! Just to go out and hang outside, not even to go to the bathroom. Highly recommend. Love the look as well, my pup is a girl and spoiled so the "Pink Diva" is perfect.
