Guardian gear dog backpack- medium and large, green.
Guardian Gear Polyester Dog Back Pack, Medium, Green
This is a well designed dog back pack and is exactly what I needed for daily walking and light hiking with my 50 lb. Sheltie. With a chest girth of 28" he is at the top limit for the large pack, but it fits him well. The two belly straps and one chest strap do not interfere with his leg movement. The liner is breathable mesh and is open under the handy grab handle which allows for more ventilation, important for my long haired and double coated dog. The medium fits chests 15"-25", pack is 7"x5"x2".(please note the small size of the pack). The large fit's chests 22"-28", pack is 10.5"x8"x3". The large pack will hold 2-16oz water bottles in each large compartment(one large compartment on each side). There is room for bags, treats and other small items in the small compartments but that is the limit for this pack. The picture used in the product description...
Looks great, not very stong contruction
I've got a year and a half old yellow lab weighing about 47 lbs who loves walking in the woods and playing in the snow, and I've been getting tired of my pockets being full of his stuff while all he does is run around chasing squirrels. So for Christmas he got this back pack and now he can carry his own water, treats and poop bags. The left side pouch is the biggest one, and he can carry a small bottle of water and his collapsible water bowl, The right side has a smaller pouch that zips closed and an outer mesh pouch with a draw string, so I'll put his collapsible food bowl in the inner pouch and any poop bags in the mesh pouch. I do have to balance the load to keep the backpack from sliding in one direction or the other, but I have the straps tightened just enough to mostly keep it in place and every time he shakes it rightens itself out.
The straps that go around the body have cushioned pad sleeves to provide comfort for the dog, but it was a real pain getting the loose...
Doggie back pack
I bought this to give my 7-month old Dobbie puppy something to do on our daily walks. It seems to fit nicely. Has a good handle for lifting off. Seems to be well made and the reflector lines are a good addition as we walk in the wee hours of the morning. I wanted to add weight for him to carry but the pouches will only hold about one can of food on each side. I did end up buying a 2nd doggie back-pack with larger pockets to be able to carry his own water (and mine) eventually.
