Dogit Go Slow Anti-Gulping Dog Bowl, Pink, Small

Puppies USED to speed eat
We have 2 German Shepherd puppies (brother/sister littermates, now 5 months old). At one point, we actually timed how fast they ate their meals, 1 minute 33 seconds for 2 cups of puppy food floated with canned food and yogurt. Way to fast. We investigated slow feeders. Nothing looked quite right. The ones with the center protrusion wouldn't work because they would work around the outside of the bowl without a problem. The ones with the 4 protrusions on the sides wouldn't work because they would just eat out of the center of the bowl. These bowls have both 4 outer protrusions and a center protrusion. We've had them for almost a month now. The puppies really have to work to eat. We have, once again, timed their eating. Mealtime took 5 minutes 42 seconds. Tripled their eating time. It also seems to amuse/frustrate them since they can't glom their food down. This is an awesome product. The only con I can find is that they're not stainless steel. Make this product in...
Very good quality slow feed bowl
I was looking at all the available slow-feed bowls on Amazon and having a hard time deciding which one to get for my Weimaraner, a breed that is prone to bloat and stomach twist caused by eating too fast. This looked to fit the bill and the reviews were good, but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I expected another flimsy plastic dog bowl, but this is a heavy, sturdy bowl that should last a very long while. It also has a rubber ring around the bottom edge to help with sliding (although it's not eliminated with an 80 lb. dog). The large size will hold 3 to 3.5 cups of dry food before the food comes over the ridges, but that number would probably be lower with a larger kibble size. The best part is it has slowed her eating time down considerably, I would say as much as an extra two minutes. If you need a slow feed bowl, definitely consider this one.
Third One's a Charm
This is the 3rd bowl I bought for my 5 year old cat who inhales her food. She still throws up a bit sometimes but this has definitley slowed her down. I had a difficult time finding a bowl small enough for a cat, but this one is a winner!
