Even a bully can learn!
I have 7 dogs. Some prefer to stare me down when they have to go out, some just cry. My English bulldog loves to ring these bells. She rams into them and creates a loud noise, but at least I know that she has to go out. I never really taught her how to use them...I just hung them on the patio door and she watched one of my other dogs. It took her a while, but now she uses her bells all the time. She just turned 1 and has been potty trained since she was about 4 months old. These bells help a lot. Of course, there are false alarms...sometimes she just wants to go and play. But, I'll take that over accidents on the carpet any day!
English Bulldogs are NOT the easiest dogs to train (nor are they the brightest), but she seemed to catch on well.
It Works!
Along with everyone else who has written raving reviews for the Poochie-Bells, I am in total agreement. My Miniature Schnoodle is quick to learn but not a super-dog! I followed the instructions that came with the bells from the start and within a week she got it. They work beautifully and I can hear them from anywhere in the house. She doesn't have accidents in the house. Uses the bells whenever she needs to go outside and sometimes when she just wants to go outside. She is 8 months old and I've been using them since she was 5 months old. She was housebroken using the method in Mother Knows Best, a terrific book that's been around a long time. That, in addition to the bells, has made life so much easier for my dog and myself. Thank you Poochie-Bells and Amazon! By the way, the last purchase I made of the bells were given to my girlfriend for her miniature poodle, who also has caught on very quickly.
concept is great
My 11 week old Boxer pup has taken to it very quickly -- we love the concept. The picture does not show that the ribbon holding the bells is very think grosgrain ribbon -- if the material was stronger -- maybe felt - it would hold up. We have had it for 3 weeks and it's already getting a little ragged.
