Almost perfect
I've used various electric training collars for over 20 years. During that time they've steadily improved--more features, smaller sizes. Sort of like mobile phones.
(Prices, though, have stayed about the same for the better models, which means that inflation-adjusted they are a little less expensive as the years pass.)
About two weeks in, this model has performed well.
I initially thought that the vibration stimulation would provide a similar corrective effect to the audible tone warning used in other collars. Sadly this has not proved to be true. The dog (a Lab) completely ignores it. I wish I'd opted instead for the tone model.
Otherwise the gear is relatively easy to use and as effective as you'd want. The stopwatch-like transmitter fits nicely in the hand, and is clearly of high quality construction. You'll quickly learn which of the three buttons you want to hit without looking at them.

What a shocker!
The dog trainer arrived and I had it setup and running within minutes. The product appears to be very well made and durable.
I purchased this trainer to replace one that had broken (completly different brand, type) so my dog (2 YO Rottwieller) had no problems adapting to this unit. The reward or warning tone is not a tone on this unit, it is a vibrate warning. My dog had no problems adjusting to this type.
PROS: Made in the USA, durable looking unit (will know more after extended use), easy to use and good documentation.
CONS: None yet.

I was given a 6 month old Doberman who had been through multiple owners because he was "high energy, unruly, uncontrollable." That may sound like most dogs but this went to the point of aggression towards humans who attempted to tell him no, or off if he was on the couch. If I walked him and we came across another dog, he would lose it to the point of turning on me if I restrained him in any manner. I got bit twice. He needed help, bad. I could see he had tons of potential. He is a gorgeous red Doberman, his problem was that no one had ever put any effort into him. He had no clue how to act. Naturally starting this process at 6 months had it's complications. He wasnt a little puppy that could be pushed around. I started first with pinch collars, etc. This made tremendous differences but he learned really quickly that if he was off the leash he could do as he pleased, tearing up the house, chasing the cat. This collar fixed that almost over night. I've had him for...
